Monthly Club Ride

In the early 1900’s William “Pogey Bill” Collins was elected sheriff of Okeechobee County. Bill was a rough and tumble sort of guy and legend has it that he gave new strangers arriving to Okeechobee the choice of playing on the local baseball team or spending time in jail. He figured that if they were looking for trouble, that would help keep them out of it.

While “Pogey Bill” is long gone, his spirit lives on at Pogey’s Family Restaurant. So, join your fellow Gold Coast Beemers for a scenic ride to Okeechobee and a relaxing family lunch. Who knows, we might even have to play an inning or two of baseball to stay out of jail.
